Scarborough Jazz Festival 2006
What an impact this event has had on the jazz
world! In its first three years it has enjoyed
increasing national acclaim. Audiences and
performers have acknowledged the consistently
high quality of the artists and find the variety and
range of the programme refreshing. And, of
course, the physical setting gives the festival an
added appeal. It is staged in the Grand Hall of the
impressive Victorian Spa Complex which looks out
across the sand and sea towards imposing cliffs and
Scarborough Castle.
SJF always tries to put on a fresh and balanced
programme and unashamedly relies heavily on the
plethora of outstanding British musicians - the
legendary Georgie Fame is one of the highlights of
this year’s Scarborough Jazz Festival. As before it
will provide high quality entertainment, contrast,
variety, accessibility, innovation – and fun.
